Circles

Round, like a circle in a spiral like a wheel within a wheel.
Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel.
Like a snowball down a mountain or a carnival balloon
Like a carousel that's turning running rings around the moon.

Like a clock whose hands are sweeping past the minutes on its face
And the world is like an apple whirling silently in space.

Like the circles that you find in the windmills of your mind.

~The Windmills of Your Mind

Just say these beautiful words out loud and tell me it doesn't make you want to spread your arms like wings and twirl!

  1. You can't! :) I'm going outside with the kids to do a little bubble blowing...and free-spirited twirling in the sunshine.

  2. your photos...capture my imagination even more than the lyrics.. floating, wings outstretched, soaring with a wind that whistles in my ears, sun sparks on water, gulls circling round. i can feel it. i can hear it. the colors are making magic for me!

  5. I just like saying the word TWIRL! But I want a SLOW twirl - just a soft, floating slow spin -like a leaf drifting down to Earth from the top of a tree. :) Love this!

  9. don't you sometimes just feel to climbing into that bubble... 'let go'... and just roll.. wherever it will take you... then when it stop after hours of rolling over hills... and roads...and mountains... and floating on the ocean... the soft wind of belonging picks you up, fairy wings around you whisking you away to a land of magic far far away... slowly they put you down where you belong... you burst the bubble, stand up...take a stronger hold of your camera and tell yourself: yes, i can! and i will! and i love this life of mine!
    love you! xx

PS: you should start selling your photos! xx

  13. I had forgotten how much I loved the lyrics to that song. I'm a big twirler, too. When I was little I would put on slippery socks and spin myself silly in the kitchen. I'd spin and spin till I fell down. (Ok, I did it just last month, too.)
