For a Season

Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.

  1. OH, I'm so glad you're back.

Jaime - these are incredible! That 1st picture looks like green silk - it's too, too beautiful. And these reds make me actually wish OUR leaves were turning. We usually just go from green to some oranges & then quickly to brown, with the exception of the maples.

OH! This just makes me feel like a kid again - in the woods in the autumn, looking for beautiful leaves. I haven't though of that in AGES!

    LOVE these!

  8. These photos remind me of a time teaching in Tuxtla GutiƩrrez (Mexico). I was teaching my grade three students about Canada and I showed them a aerial photo of a Canadian forest in the fall. The leaves ranged from a very bright red to dark green including everything in between. The children literally gasped en masse and exclamations of awe poured forth in English and Spanish. I had to look at the picture again and I asked them what had amazed them so. They asked me why the leaves are red, yellow and orange? It was then that I realized that the leaves in Chiapas don't change colour. They had never before seen a picture of a forest in the fall. When I see the beautiful fall colours now, I imagine that I am one of those grade threes seeing the colours of autumn for the first time. Sometimes I even gasp with shock and delight (OK, just delight).
