Jaime - these are incredible! That 1st picture looks like green silk - it's too, too beautiful. And these reds make me actually wish OUR leaves were turning. We usually just go from green to some oranges & then quickly to brown, with the exception of the maples.
OH! This just makes me feel like a kid again - in the woods in the autumn, looking for beautiful leaves. I haven't though of that in AGES!
you are really something else girl! these are incredibly brilliant! sos orange! so apple green! so dramatic! so pretty!
like debi there i have missed you but i know you are busy filling the lives of children with your beautiful view of the world. i hear the tinkle of a clare de lune.... do i not?
How incredibly lush, and sacred. Made even moreso by the absence of words. Happy Autumn my beautiful friend. xoxo Oh, and 'Love'... we cannot forget the love!

ReplyDeletei LOVE that quote. beautiful images.
ReplyDeleteThese photos remind me of a time teaching in Tuxtla GutiƩrrez (Mexico). I was teaching my grade three students about Canada and I showed them a aerial photo of a Canadian forest in the fall. The leaves ranged from a very bright red to dark green including everything in between. The children literally gasped en masse and exclamations of awe poured forth in English and Spanish. I had to look at the picture again and I asked them what had amazed them so. They asked me why the leaves are red, yellow and orange? It was then that I realized that the leaves in Chiapas don't change colour. They had never before seen a picture of a forest in the fall. When I see the beautiful fall colours now, I imagine that I am one of those grade threes seeing the colours of autumn for the first time. Sometimes I even gasp with shock and delight (OK, just delight).
ReplyDeleteLove that Camus quote. It is so true of the season. Wonderful images. Especially love the warm red tones of the last one.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful photography.
ReplyDeleteThe poetry of colours,
ReplyDeleteHave these leaves been carressed by the hands of god....
Love stands still whispering through these leaves a magic language....how beautiful is your soul!
here is peace , here is prayer....i bow in admiration to you and your art!
