Insectia

What would it be like to be so tiny that you could nap the afternoon away on a bed of duckweed, as the gentle lapping of the water's edge lulled you to dream?

What would it be like to know that you are connected to ancient ancestors that go back 300 million years?

How would it feel to have a jeweled body of vibrant blue and wings made of nature's finest lace?

Or to have 1000 eyes to behold the world and its wonders?

Wouldn't it be amazing to be a nymph of the water world before becoming airborne? What would that first take off feel like?

How exquisite it would be to set your toes on the velvety softness of a flower petal and drink its sweet nectar.

Or to be called a name as sweet as *damselfly*

    Jaime,
    Often when I read your posts I think, "I wish I had a sister. I really wish I had this sister." I love the way you think. The way you see. I just love you.

  6. oh, oh, oh!!!! this is incredible! LOVE this image & your what-ifs! PLUS, and here you can laugh at me, i had no idea what a damselfly looked like, and you have perfect timing, because we have bright blue ones suddenly this year. they sit on the lily stalks next to the creek, near the red dragonflies and look like tiny pieces of jewelry. so thank you for the education and the gorgeousness. :)

  10. Funnily enough, I imagine it would feel totally normal. Like, of course I am tiny and gorgeous and can swim and fly and drink nectar. Can't everyone? {Wouldn't that be cool to think it normal?!}

  15. This photo is gorgeous! I'm also envious, but only in a good way, as I've been trying for years to take a shot of a dragon fly. Although this might be damsel fly. What are the green things?
