I just wanted to wish everyone a happy summer solstice weekend! (Ok, I'm a day late, so I thought, why not extend the celebration of the coming summer for the whole weekend?)
We haven't been getting a whole lot of sunshine lately in this corner of the world, so I thought I might find it in the flowers instead.
And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet
and the winds long to play with your hair.
~Kahlil Gibran
I can feel its warm approach....can you?
Did you make any wishes last night?
Happy Summer Solstice from England too, although like yourself, we're not experiencing much sun at the moment. I'm afraid that I didn't make any wishes, I fell into bed at 6.30pm and slept right through until 5.20am this morning!
ReplyDeleteI feel refresh!!
in denmark they burn witches on a big bonfire for the summer solstice--"sankt hans" day, which is always celebrated on the 23rd. i guess they used to do it for real, now it's just an effigy, but still i'm not taking any chances. :-)
ReplyDeleteWe've got gale force winds here...they are having a ball with my hair :)

ohhh... that was nice, thank you.
ReplyDeletewe had a cold spell last week but for the last couple of days we've been experiencing a heat wave... actually, quite appropriate for the beginning of summer :)
Happy summer solstice to you too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image. And yes - you can see the sunshine within.
Jaime, every image you offer us, every word you write is only sunshine.
ReplyDeleteThankyou for your bountiful wishes....and may the sun smile for you seven days a week!

What a lovely macro shot of appears to be a daisy of some sort or a dandelion? No matter, it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteSo perfect! As is the quote that goes with it!
Happy solstice!
Happy Solstice and happy summer to you. Weather is odd here. More rainfall so far in June than we've had in over 50 years. We go from hot to cool to stormy. Sometimes all in the space of an hour. The lightning storms have been gorgeous. Last night I wished what I always wish: safety and contentment for my daughter. What did you wish for?
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty little flower that is!
ReplyDeleteI didn't make any wishes...but I did delight in a whole lot of sunshine this weekend...
I hope you're getting some now too.:)
